The Moat Club's October full-length play is Dublin Carol by Conor McPherson. This production will be directed by Samantha Coventry and will star Michael McHugh as John, Rebecca Byrne as Mary and Nick Pearson-Buffoni as Mark. Set in Dublin on Christmas Eve, undertaker John Plunkett takes a retrospective look at his own life, revealing lost opportunities, a misused past and one last chance to make it right. Dublin Carol was produced just three years after McPherson’s internationally acclaimed and award-winning The Weir. It premiered at the Royal Court Theatre, London, in February 2000, and at the Gate Theatre, Dublin, in October of that year, starring Brian Cox as John, Bronagh Gallagher as Mary and Andrew Scott as Mark.
